Filament’s founder and principal consultant, Jason began his career in Investment Banking before migrating to managing the wealth, banking and financing needs of small business owners. He then took over as a director at a real estate investment firm before founding Filament Business Advisors and running several more successful businesses in the restaurant, consulting, financial, real estate, administrative services, and marketing industries. With each new experience, Jason learned valuable lessons about boots-on-the-ground consulting, honed his methodologies, and is focused on helping others realize similar successes in business.
Originally from Atlanta, Ken fell in love with Richmond’s sense of community and rich history. Ken’s professional approach to communication and passion for helping small businesses has led him to find a career at Filament, where he leans into his experience in the recruitment, management, and training of emergency preparedness and professional communication personnel. Ken forges relationships with community leaders and business owners, so Filament can be a resource to our small business community. As a business broker (intermediary), Ken assists in the selling or passing on of businesses utilizing a numbers-driven yet relationship oriented approach.
With educational experience in both Marketing and Psychology, Sarah is fascinated by the multitude of ways business owners can promote their mission. Halogen was created specifically for Richmond’s small business owners who face the common yet daunting question of how to scale, grow, and build marketing systems that will serve as an investment, not an expense. As a left-brained list maker and believer that a well thought out strategy should precede any big decision, Sarah’s passion lies in meeting business owners where they are, helping define and clarify their goals, then taking intentional, trackable steps to get there.
